Day Dresses

This season I'm kind of over trousers. I'd much rather cosy up in a day dress with tights and boots. I don't know if it's just me, but so many dresses (and tops) seem to have three-quarter length sleeves. In my opinion that just defeats the purpose of a long sleeve, it does not keep you warm, I also don't find them any prettier than a full length sleeve.

I've tracked down some pretty little numbers with long sleeves. They cost between £30 and £50 and are from my favourite UK high street store, Miss Selfridge (no, they don't pay me to say so, sadly enough).
Yes, the first one has three-quarter sleeves, but it's purple crushed velvet! Brings me back to Christmas parties when I was a kid, in a good way. The stripey number would be my go-to dress of the season. I'd wear it to lounge around the house, go shopping, meet with friends, ...
Lacey + vintagey = lovely (and sexy)!
Work-wear options.
This dress was a bit of a conundrum. I couldn't decide which colour I wanted more. The blue would work well with my colouring, but the mustard one is just so darn fabulous, especially with the contrasting black button detailing. Too bad it wouldn't look fabulous on me. Maybe the blue one would be nicer if they had given it white contrasting buttons on top as well as on the sleeve. The more I think about it, the more I'm sure, I'd get both.
