him

I just want him.

Really. Everything I could want in a guy, I saw in him.
I can't remember the last time I just talked with a guy and really enjoyed myself.

But I'll never have him. Because he belongs to someone else.

I sometimes wonder what is worse. Never wanting anything, or never getting what you want.

What is worse? Feeling empty or that dull ache of knowing it will never be?

I want him, but would he ever want me?

The great 'Ye's Runaway

So this one is a bit off topic, but I just love love love it.
It's stunningly beautiful. Kanye is a modern poet.
Sit back and enjoy

Lovely Library

I really really want a cosy library. I can just picture myself lounging by a roaring fireplace, loosing myself in a good book.
When I grow up and have a home of my own, I will absolutely have to have a library. Of course, I'd also have to have kitties. So we can mutally purr in contentment.
I'd decorate it with a vintage feel and keep everything soft and luscious and luxurious. It would be my haven. Together with my dressing room.
Hmm, sometimes I wonder if there's room in my dream-future life for anyone else. Sometimes I worry that being single for so long has made me rather selfish. What if my future man is not a reader and would rather not waste a whole room on books. Hmm, I don't think I could have future with that kind of man. I guess if I find the right man, it wouldn't be a question of being selfish because it would be our haven. That makes me smile on the inside.

Lazy hazy Sunday

Today all I want is a head that does not hurt. And maybe a man to massage my feet and whisper sweet nothings in my ear.

And some good Ol' Blue Eyes.

Yeah, obviously in a nostalgic mood today.

Twee Sweaters

You know who's wardrobe I also want? Emma's from Glee. She's just so darn adorable. Her clothes are the perfect match of prim and quirky. She wears a lot of bows and bright colours, and also has a good take on vintage style. I think this would all really work for me. Apparently she wears a lot of J.Crew and Anthropologie, both out of budget. What I love most about her though is her twee sweaters.

Speaking of twee sweaters, I'm really loving pearl and lace detailing on sweaters. I've managed to find some Emma-inspired pieces that are somewhat nearer my budget.

These are all in the £30 pound range and are from Miss Selfridge, Topshop and John Rocha, all brands from in my 'hood. Whoopie. Or maybe not so whoopie. I'm now employed, wich means at some point I'll be getting a paycheck. A paycheck I'll be very tempted to blow on these sweaters, while I should really be spending it on other things, or saving it for later ... Oh the agony!

Joan Holloway

Now, just to be clear, I don't want Joan Holloway (or Christina Hendricks). I couldn't actually have a person because that would be wrong. Although, who's life wouldn't be better with a bit of Joan Holloway. She would give amazing no-nonsense advice on life and love and everything in between. And she's nice to look at.

But let's get back to business. What I really want is her wardrobe. Fabulous fabrics in luscious jewel tones and to die for accessories. Swoon! I especially love her pen necklace.

The retro look is very flattering for curvier types like myself. There are so many styles that I really love, but know that I could never pull off because I'm not tall and thin. But this one, this one works.

By the way, red / ginger is the new blonde. Coming from a blonde, that's gotta say something.

Sumptious Autumn

This autumn I'm mad for shearling, browns and a seventies feel. Accesories-wise I'm really feeling the whimsical nature trend, especially anything owl.
I can just see myself strutting off to a fabulous lunch in this outfit. I'm especially craving the Burberry aviator jacket. It's a total saver as well. I wouldn't even need a scarf as the sumptous shearling will keep my neck deliciously cosy warm. Mmmm. The boots Fendi boots are killer too, and would also look fab over skinny jeans.
Lets take a closer look at the necklace...

A Bird To The Wise
That owl is so looking down on me (or you) and I love him for it.

Cocktail rings (literally)

Such synergy! I love cocktails, I love rings, I love cocktail rings. You know what I love even more? Cocktail rings that are designed like actual cocktails.

The beauty in these rings is not only in the "wink" as I call it, but the design is also amazing. I could gaze at that white flower and diamond straw in the "Blue Hawaiian" for ages. And the yellow lemon on the "Sex on the Beach" looks so juicy, I would probably try to suck it. That sounds dirty. Sorry.

Dior Christal Dazzling timepiece

I saw this and I swooned, then I gasped ... at the pricetag. It could be mine for £14,200. Some jobs I've applied for have offered not much more as an annual salary. But isn't it beautiful. Forget big blue eyes, I want a big blue timepiece! I would happily be single for another six years if that meant I could have this watch. Does that make me horribly materialistic? Maybe ... At least I know myself. And a watch can't let you down. Well, it could break down, but in that case you'd simply have it fixed. I don't know many faulty men who could be fixed.

Time would be totally irrelevant with this on my wrist. I suppose to anyone who can afford it, time probably is irrelevant. Ah, to be one of those lucky few ...

Kurt Geiger shoes

I first fell in love with Kurt Geiger when I picked up a Glamour magazine while visiting the UK. I was about fourteen years old. I can still remember lusting after the shoes. Theirs stood out from all the other ones because the shoes were just so damn fabulous. The design, textures and colours drew me in and I knew that one day I would have to own a pair.
As an unemployed graduate, I can't afford them any more then when I was fourteen (probably even less so, I had a job back then). But I am closer to the source. I now live in the UK and there are two large
Kurt Geiger stores nearby. Oh the temptation!
Hopefully I'll be able to treat myself to a pair for my next birthday (July 2011). It would be even nicer if someone else would ...

I've just realised I have quite a thing for bows ...
