The fab 70s

I've always been inspired by different decades. Now I'm loving the 70s style. I was browsing fashion pictures and came across these stunning images. How fab are those (faux?) fur jackets?! In my mind the camel and the black one are battling it out for the favourite position. I also wonder if a shorter, curvier person could pull off the high wasted flare.

Just to be clear, I do not love the blue dress or the red shoes. However, I do absolutely love the peach outfit. The colour and silhouette are marvelous, and it has pockets! I want it in my closet. Now. Or at least by the summer. That yellow shirt dress belongs in the summer wardrobe of my more tanned self.

Monochromatic 70s ... I like! Also like the splash of green with the white preppy dress.

These looks are my favourite, especially the green one. The colour, the print of the blouse, the flared mini, the knee socks, the platforms ... swoon! The brown, lacy one comes in a close second place.

I'm really quite bothered that my mom didn't keep any of her old clothes.

That polished look

I have had a love affair with nailpolish for many many years now. As long as I could afford to I would collect polishes in every colour of the rainbow. At 14 I was particularly proud of a milky turquoise I picked up for €1 at a discount store. One Christmas I got a box of about 15 different colours, I was in heaven. At 17 I experimented with mixing colours and managed to come up with one really good concoction.

Now, I love OPI nailpolish. Their Nail Envy does wonders for my nails, when I can afford it. They also have an amazing range of colours. They also do some cool collaborations. Besides loving nailpolish, I've also loved Christina Aguilera for a very long time (with the exception of her latest album). So, of course when I saw that OPI was releasing a Burlesque collection, I had to check it out.

I'm especially enamoured with the burnt orange colour. Would look so good paired with my fantasy 70s inspired outfits. Not too coocoo about the two light pinks though, a tad too flashy for fall. The sparkly green is perfect for pairing with falling leaves.
Too bad I'm not in a position to spend almost ten pounds on a pot of polish ...

Pegasus ring

How amazing is this ring!

You know what makes it even more amazing, it's inspired by Disney's Fantasia. I loved that cartoon when I was a kid (even though I thought some parts were a bit creepy). I love black stones. I think they're more sophisticated and cool than clear ones. And just look at that red eye.
I want to hold this, and stroke it, and wear it.
If I had this ring I would probably sleep with it next to my pillow.
I love everything about this ring, except for the $235 pricetag. So maybe it's a good thing nOir Jewelry is not in the UK. There would be some real temptation, and as it goes, I can resist anything but temptation.

Croc Dress

It's been a while. I've been a busy little bee, with work and socialising and all.
But I've missed wanting things, so I'm back. And back on topic.

I've always wanted to own a grown up work dress. Something fabulous and fierce, that would instill the rest of the office with awe and envy. One name that always popped up when I would picture my grown up business woman self was Karen Millen. And just check out this dress.

I love how the classic cut and rather prim neckline is paired with such a wild fabric. It's a sly seduction of a dress. Just how sexy should be.
I think I'd pair it with tan accessories. Purple would be fierce, but perhaps a bit too much for the office. In my dream world I'd probably pair it with these Louboutin heels and Chloe bag.
